Last year, Liam, admitted Cheryl had taken on most of the childcare duties while he was working away on new music in LA.

The pair recorded the hit for the erotic drama "Fifty Shades Freed", and during a Q&A on Twitter two days ahead of the awards, the 27-year-old beauty surprised her fans by inviting her collaborator to perform at the glitzy ceremony at London's The O2 arena on Wednesday (21.02.18).

"No, it doesn't bother me", Cole told BBC, noting that her top priority at the moment was launching a successful event for her charity campaign.

The unmarried couple have been battling to stay together - staging crisis talks this week about their future after Liam returned to Britain from touring.

"I just had a passionate feeling of wanting to help", she said.

An insider told the publication: "There's a big age gap between them". "If they didn't have Bear then they would have most likely split up by now".

"But they love their son", The Sun continues. "And they do care for each other so it's now a matter of seeing if there's a final way forward to try and make it work".

The former Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge said she still relates to young people in the North East, despite her fame and success.

And she added: "Obviously it had to be here, it's where I'm from, it's where my family are from and it's where my friends still are".

At the end of the chat, the presenter asked Cheryl how she feels about her personal life coming under scrutiny, to which she responded, "None of that matters".

When asked by BBC Breakfast if she was frustrated to see stories about her private life, Cheryl replied: "No, it doesn't bother me at all because my focus is exclusively on this".
