AIMPLB member wants school at Babri site

AIMPLB member wants school at Babri site

"As far as the Babri Masjid is concerned, the people who compromise on the masjid issue will be answerable to the Almighty", Owaisi said. Jilani said the board had not authorized any of its members to meet Ravishankar or any other Hindu religious leader for talks on Ayodhya dispute. "We held meeting so that all issues around the matter especially that of Ram Temple and Babri Masjid are discussed and we look for a solution which sends message across the nation".

The working committee of the AIMPLB had met yesterday evening. However, the 251-member strong apex body of Muslims in India has sent a clear signal to the world that there is no compromise when it comes to the Ayodhya issue.

AIMPLB member Qasim Rasool Ilyas said the board president would take action against Maulana Salman once the panel submitted its report. Nadvi was widely condemned for making the suggestion after his meeting with the Art of Living founder Ravi Shankar, a known supporter of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Both of them in their addresses said that triple talaq bill which is now pending in the Rajya Sabha is not acceptable to the Muslim community because it is against the Constitution".

The news of the meeting in Bengaluru came as a shock and disappointment to the Muslim delegates from all over the country who have gathered in Hyderabad from the annual session of the Board.

Maulana Salman, an aamilah (executive) and close relative of AIMPLB chief Maulana Rabey Nadvi, had presented a case for a negotiated settlement when the members met in Hyderabad on the first day of the board's three-day deliberations.

"Babri Masjid is an essential part of faith in Islam and Muslims can never abdicate the masjid nor they can exchange land for masijd, gift masjid land". By demolishing Babri Masjid, it never loses its identity as a masjid. In its executive body meeting on Friday, the AIMPLB had chose to take a disciplinary action against Nadvi.

On Thursday, an audio-video clip of Maulana Nadvi had gone viral which says that the Hanbali school of Islamic jurisprudence allows "shifting of mosques" and that Muslims will agree to the plan.

The land dedicated for masjid can not be sold, gifted or in any way alienated, AIMPLB said in a statement. "We believe in our judiciary system", said a member of Board executive.

Last year, the top court had put a freeze on an earlier judgment of the Allahabad High Court that said Lord Ram was born under the central dome of the makeshift temple in Ayodhya and Hindus have the right to worship there.
