Well actually, Tom Brady did not practice on Thursday

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was present at practice on Thursday despite suffering a hand injury the day before, but he was sporting a slightly different look that left some concerned.

"We gave out the injury report yesterday, we'll update it today", Belichick told a news conference on Friday. He responded the same way when asked how he injured his hand during Wednesday's practice. While the injury is not considered serious, the five-times Super Bowl champion did not practice on Thursday and cancelled his media availability.

With two days to go until the game, Brady's hand injury remains a mystery and a subject drawing more curiosity from the National Football League world.

ESPN's Mike Reiss reports a source close to Brady said the 40-year-old passer "should be OK" for New England's AFC Championship game against the Jaguars Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.

In the NFC, both teams will start quarterbacks who have never played extensive minutes in a conference championship game.

"We're going to get ready for Jacksonville, do the best that we can, make the best decisions for the team that we can", Belichick said.
