Nintendo Direct Round-Up; Everything New Coming to Nintendo Switch

Thanks to its unique aesthetic, achingly cool soundtrack and brilliantly addictive combat, it's great to see this wonderfully refreshing release get a new lease of life on Nintendo's new console in 2018.

Wii U and 3DS title Hyrule Warriors is also landing on Switch this Spring in a Definitive Edition that will include Breath of the Wild outfits among other new features. We also learned of some new DLC coming to Nintendo titles that are already out.

The story is far more complex than this brief synopsis, but we'll let you discover the twists and turns it can take once the game launches. These links leave Siliconera. The game arrives for Nintendo Switch on May 4. It will be interesting to see if Nintendo is able to tap back into the magic featured in the earlier games, because if they do then this long-running series will finally be back on the right track. It releases summer 2018. The port will also include new story content.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will gain a new character in Donkey Kong, who will be purchasable with a new storyline and world in the spring. Mario Tennis Aces is due for the Nintendo Switch this Spring and will be bringing along the first full story mode since the series appeared on Game Boy Advanced.

Kirby: Star Allies will be available March 16 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Although there were rumours swirling, Nintendo surprised most of us today by debuting a new Nintendo Direct Mini in order to announce a number of upcoming releases and new content coming to the Switch.

The fact that the game is actually going to feature a story mode is a huge deal. Select from a cast of butt-kicking heroines, as the name entails, and throwdown with opponents in tag-team matches that require more than just taking down HP. Pokken will also be getting two new fighters, Aegislash and Blastoise.

A free update is coming to Super Mario Odyssey, and it's filled with balloons. This will help players have a taste of multiplayer in the coziness of their own house with friends, just like Nintendo wants their games to be played.

Celeste releases on Switch January 25th.

Andrew is IGN's executive editor of news and could never play everything coming to Switch even if time stopped for a year.
