New Search To Find Missing Malaysian Plane

A USA company is starting up a new search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 nearly four years after it vanished.

The Malaysian government said it will allow a United States exploration firm to resume the search, Reuters reported.

Ocean Infinity said it was moving Seabed Constructor, the vessel that the company uses for the search, towards the vicinity of the possible search zone given that the weather window would be relatively narrow.

A high-tech vessel run by a USA exploration firm is en route to resume the hunt for flight MH370 in a new bid to solve one of aviation's greatest mysteries.

The Australian-led sea search, the largest in aviation history, was suspended in January previous year.

Nonetheless, Ocean Infinity is reportedly confident it can locate the wreckage using intelligence from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau and Boeing flight simulators, in conjunction with the vessel's enhanced search equipment, according to the Daily Express.

Ocean Infinity was one of three companies which had bid to resume the hunt.

The aircraft was reported missing on March 8, 2014.

In the initial search for the plane, a 52-day surface search covered an area of several million square square miles in the Indian Ocean west of Australia, before an underwater search mapped 274,000 square miles of seabed at depths of up to 20,000 feet.

Liow confirmed that the search would be on "no cure, no fee" basis, adding that the contract would be finalized by next week. The ship has unmanned submarines that can descend deep into the ocean. "This is created to save time should the contract award be forthcoming, as hoped", it said.
