India beat Pakistan at the Blind Cricket World Cup 2018 in UAE

Three-time champions India and Australia will lock horns in their tournament opener of the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup, to be held in New Zealand from January 13 to February 3 next year.

But the player to watch in this group could be 16-year-old off-spinner Mujeeb Zadran, who not only grabbed five for 13 against Pakistan in that final, but also made a sensational entry into senior worldwide cricket grabbing four for 24 against Ireland in Sharjah for a player of the match debut. In other matches on the opening day to be played here, Bangladesh take on Namibia and Papua New Guinea play Zimbabwe.

It's the cricket nursery that delivered Brendon McCullum, Kane Williamson, Tim Southeee, Steve Smith and Virat Kohli to the worldwide stage.

The final set of preparation games are scheduled for Thursday with former champions Australia taking on South Africa, Canada clashing with Ireland, India up against Kenya and England facing Sri Lanka. The top two from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals. The top four will qualify for the semi-finals.

This will be the 12th edition of the tournament and the third on New Zealand soil.
