Imran's third marriage report is wrong: PTI

The leaders of his party have, however, rejected the report.

After speculations that Imran had secretly married Bushra Bibi, whom he used to visit for spiritual guidance, on January 1 at the age of 66, PTI finally confirmed that Maneka had sought time for her response to the marriage proposal.

The report said the wedding ceremony took place in Lahore at the residence of a close confidante of the bride who als happens to be a friend of the leader.

The PTI's Political Secretary Awn Chaudhry also took to Twitter to vehemently deny the report, saying that he had "categorically denied the veracity of this planted gossip".

Bushra has already formally separated from her husband Ghulam Farid Maneka, a senior official of the Pakistan Customs Service. When SC deprives IK's detractors from doing accusatory stories of corruption, they create stories of his "marriage"!

Similarly, spokesman for the party head, Naeem-ul-Haq also dismissed this, adding that if Khan was to marry, he would do so after the general elections.

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry had earlier said the party will issue an important press statement today on the reports of party chief Imran Khan's third marriage. "Somewhat pathetic too!" tweeted Dr Shireen Mazari, PTI's chief whip.

Imran Khan came in touch with the lady for spiritual guidance a couple of years ago that eventually culminated in the marriage.

However, Saeed was hesitant to issue any denial. He, however, denied his ex-wife has married Khan.

"To set the record straight, Mr Khan proposed marriage to Ms Bushra Maneka, but Ms Maneka asked for time to make a final decision after consulting her family, including her children", said the statement. He had first tied the knot with Jemima Goldsmith on May 16, 1995, that ended in divorce nine years later on June 22, 2004.
