Harry Kane becomes Tottenham's record Premier League goal scorer

Harry Kane becomes Tottenham's record Premier League goal scorer

That honour belonged to Son Heung-Min, who bestrode the match with an astonishing display.

Eriksen added the fourth with a sublime finish nine minutes from time.

Son always seem to be off the radar not that he ever appears to be vying for too much attention. With the score at 2-0, an intriguing sub-plot raised its head.

The north London side have finished in second and third place in the last two seasons.

This was Son's 40 goal in 117 appearances for Spurs which is outstanding.

Everton have conceded 34 goals this season already, the fifth highest in the league, highlighting this as a real issue for the Blues. At least £60m, surely.

Kane also became only the third player, after Thierry Henry (five seasons) and Alan Shearer (four), to score 20 Premier League goals in four successive seasons. Replays suggested the England man was in an offside position when the pass came to him.

The opening goal came from a different source.

But Redknapp, who gave Kane his Lilywhites debut in 2011 in a 0-0 draw with Hearts in the Europa League, insisted he can't see the player moving on right now, especially if he's given a bumper new contract.

The veteran forward had the ball in the net midway through the first period, this time off Tosun's nod-on from Gylfi Sigurdsson's corner, but his goal was chalked off for offside. His left-footed shot flew toward the goal and on hand was the terrier-like Kane in customary fashion, to poke home nearly on the goal-line.

That changed in the 24th minute when Christian Eriksen started the play that led to a goal from Son Heung-Min. Although it was off target, it was turned in expertly by Son.

"Tottenham can beat anybody by a lot of goals but they should have had to work harder than they did". Son bamboozles Kenny with a lovely drag away from Kenny.

Son and Kane were clearly in the mood to achieve exactly that.

Son followed that assist with a drive that hit the post flush from 18 yards out.

"For Harry it's so special to win titles and trophies at Tottenham". Subs: Lennon 5, Calvert-Lewin 5, Schneiderlin 5.

Yet the England global Alli delivered the brilliant flick and the Danish worldwide finished calmly.

Manager Conte believes they are paying the price for playing seven games in three weeks, with no let-up in prospect as they contest four competitions.

That means Kane will not be leaving and Spurs will fend off bids for the likes of Alli, Eriksen, Danny Rosem Toby Alderweireld etc.
