"We will use wisely the time we have left together", Jeanne and Gideon Bernstein said today in a statement.

A wooded area at the edge of Borrego Park in Lake Forest on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 is thought to be the location where the body of Blaze Bernstein was found.

The affidavit claimed Woodward told investigators he and Bernstein drove to the park, where Bernstein left to meet a third person.

Samuel Woodward, 20, was taken into custody on Friday afternoon for the alleged murder. He said that he stopped by the park on the way back to look for Bernstein, but found no sign of him.

The Orange County Register reports that a search warrant affidavit revealed that 19-year-old Blaze, a University of Pennsylvania student, was home for the holidays in Foothill Ranch, Ca. when he was killed, and he may have been trying to sexually pursue Samuel Lincoln Woodward, 20. Officials said Woodward was evasive during initial questioning.

They called on the public to "work towards something good. Stop being complacent. Do something now". That is what Blaze would want. "We have seen this first hand in the tremendous amount of support we received from people everywhere". People are good and Blaze knew that.

"We will continue to seek justice for Blaze, his family and our community". "Blaze was on a path to fix our world and it is a moral imperative that we all take steps now to make sure that his dream is realized".

They both attended Orange County School of the Arts, a school noted for creative writing, the Daily Pennsylvanian reported.

People reports Blaze was a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, and meant to declare a major in psychology with a minor in chemistry with hopes of "pursuing it with a pre-med focus".

"I realize these losses have the potential to affect many, many members of our Penn family", she said. Bernstein was visiting his family in Foothill Ranch during winter break when his high school friend Woodward picked him up on January 2 and drove with him to several places before winding up at a neighborhood park. He was on winter break from the University of Pennsylvania and visiting his parents in Lake Forest when he disappeared.

Authorities are investigating the stabbing death as a possible act of rage, according to the Orange County Register.

According to the affidavit, Woodward "clenched his jaw and fists" while describing the interaction, noting that "he wanted to tell Blaze to get off of him". Woodward was allegedly "unable to provide his girlfriend's last name, phone number or address", when questioned by investigators.

During initial questioning, police noticed Woodward had scratches on his hands and dirt under his nails, which he explained away by saying he was in a "fight club". He also appeared to have dirt under his fingernails. Barnes said Woodward had asked for a lawyer.
