Flight to Hong Kong diverted to Anchorage

According to KTVA-TV, United flight 895, bound for Hong Kong from Chicago, was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Anchorage, Alaska due to the unruly passenger.

Cops say the man wiped the excrement in along the walls in a couple of bathrooms before he then took off his shirt and attempted to stuff it into a toilet.

United Airlines spokesman Charlie Hobart says 245 passengers were aboard the flight, which is set to depart Anchorage on Friday.

A United Airlines flight had to be rerouted to Anchorage, Alaska Thursday night due to a passenger "smearing feces everywhere", KTVA reports.

The flight landed in Anchorage about 6:30 p.m. and was met by local and federal law enforcement, police said. The diversion came as a result of a man defecated and made a mess in two of the plane's lavatories.

Airport police did not file charges against the passenger.

The Boeing 777 ended up having to be grounded overnight whilst the aircraft was disinfected and cleaned up. "We provided hotel accommodations for our customers and are working to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible".
