Debra Messing Calls Out E!...on the E! Golden Globes Red Carpet

While discussing equal pay in the workforce, Debra expressed how disheartened she was to learn that E! didn't pay their employees equally - referencing Catt Sadler's decision to leave the network after learning she made significantly less than her male peer. News, and when one actress was interviewed by the network, she used her face time to further her cause.

Catt Sadler leaving E!

Messing first explained why she - like most attendees at the Golden Globes this year - was wearing black. She continued, "I mean, I miss Catt Sadler". Late last month, Sadler revealed that she was leaving the network after finding out that there was a "massive" disparity in pay between herself and colleague Jason Kennedy. "I was so shocked to hear that E! doesn't believing in paying their female co-hosts the same as their male co-hosts".

Messing and Dern weren't the only stars to show support for Sadler; earlier Sunday, Amy Schumer shared a photo of the TV host on Instagram urging stars to call out E! on the red carpet.

At the start of the night, Rancic asked actress Debra Messing about her black ensemble, to which she brought up the Time's Up movement, which has created a legal defense fund for both women and men who believe that they've been discriminated against or harassed in the workplace.

We're barely ten minutes into the E! She left after the company refused her demand to be paid comparably. So we stand with her.

"How can I accept an offer that shows they do not value my contributions and paralleled dedication all these years?"

Debra Messing just came out swinging against E! How can I not echo the actions of my heroes and stand for what is right no matter what the cost?
