Court Documents Reveal New Details in Las Vegas Shooting

"Investigators believe these communications may have been related to the eventual attack that occurred at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas", the court document read.

The FBI agent who prepared the affidavit noted that Danely was cooperating with investigators and that the investigation "to date has not produced any conclusive evidence that Danely aided Paddock, had foreknowledge of his plans or has been deceptive with law enforcement".

Later that day another email read: "We have a wide variety of optics and ammunition to try".

The details suggesting the attack may have been planned months in advance were part of more than 300 pages of search warrants and affidavits unsealed by a federal judge in Nevada on Friday, according to the Los Angeles Times, one of several publications that sought release of the documents. He ultimately shot himself in the head while in the room.

Stephen Paddock's emails were disclosed in affidavits unsealed Friday after several media organizations, including The Associated Press, fought for their release.

A search warrant dated October 3 showed that investigators believed there was no evidence of "criminal involvement" by Danley, Fox News reported. Instead, they demonstrate how authorities continue to seek answers to many questions surrounding Paddock's actions and motive. In fact, Paddock took a number of steps aimed at tripping up investigators, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation team trying to get to the bottom of the shooting wrote that the 64-year-old exhibited "a level of sophistication which is commonly found in mass casualty events".

Drapes billow out of the room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino following a deadly shooting at the Route 91 country music festival in Las Vegas. But the third phone, which has a Google operating system, was locked, and authorities said they could only access the device with help. She "corroborated much of what had been previously deduced by investigators", an agent wrote in one filing, and remained "adamant" she was unaware of Paddock's intentions.

"The investigation has also revealed that Paddock may have been treated for yet unidentified medical conditions", an agent wrote.

Bump stocks believed to be used in the massacre were found in the 32nd-floor hotel room from where Stephen Paddock fired down on a crowd gathered on a Sunday night for the finale of a country music festival held on the Las Vegas Strip.

Authorities still do not know Paddock's motive for the attack and the investigation is still ongoing.
