Chiefs coordinator Nagy to be named Bears head coach

The Chicago Bears have hired Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy as their new head coach, hoping he can help lift a foundering National Football League franchise emerge from one of its worst runs in history. Here are three reasons why the Bears made the right decision to hire him as head coach.

Larry Wisdom, who about 10 years ago was a major player in Chicago suburban real estate, played a pivotal role in Nagy's life. He did not call plays until late this season, but has drawn praise for his work with Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.

According to Jahns, Nagy interviewed with Bears GM Ryan Pace Sunday, just one day after the Chiefs lost 22-21 to the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium.

-At the end of his time with the Chiefs, Nagy was the team's offensive coordinator and playcaller. He began with the Eagles as a coaching intern in 2008 and eventually followed Reid to Kansas City before becoming the Chiefs quarterbacks coach in 2013.

Nagy will be tasked with developing first-round pick Mitch Trubisky, who showed some promise as a rookie. They Bears were 5-11 this past season.
