Anthony Weiner And Huma Abedin Will Settle Divorce Out Of Court

Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., and former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin agreed Wednesday to settle their divorce out of court, representatives said.

Abedin filed for divorce in May and listed the case as "contested", indicating there was a dispute between her and her husband.

Weiner, a disgraced politician once considered a leading Democratic figure, is now serving a 21-month sentence in MA for sending lewd photographs to a minor.

The 41-year-old filed for divorce last May after her husband pleaded guilty to sending explicit text messages to an underage girl.

It reportedly has been marked "discontinued" by a Manhattan Supreme Court judge.

The former congressman is now serving almost two years in federal prison.

A compliance conference in their divorce proceedings was due to take place on Wednesday but Ms Abedin did not show up.

"In order to ensure the proceedings have a minimal impact on their child, the parties have chose to finalize their divorce swiftly and privately", her attorney Charles Miller said.

Weiner, 53, first made salacious headlines in May 2011 when he inadvertently tweeted a photo of his crotch in boxer briefs.

In September, Weiner was sentenced to almost two years in federal prison.
