Someone Hacked Anderson Cooper's Twitter Account And Called Trump A 'Pathetic Loser'

CNN said on Wednesday that someone hacked the Twitter account of cable news anchor Anderson Cooper and insulted Donald Trump in a response to one of the president's tweets about last night's senate race in Alabama.

After the stunning loss of Republican candidate Roy Moore in a special election to fill an Alabama Senate seat, Trump said in a Twitter post that he originally did not back Moore because he did not think Moore could win, which is why he endorsed another candidate in the Alabama primary. After a violent white supremacist rally was held in Charlottesville, Virginia, in August, Cooper rebuked the real estate mogul in an 11-minute on-air rant for blaming "both sides" and showing "the world exactly how little he knows or cares about US history".

"Oh really? You endorsed him you tool!"

Cooper's Twitter account has more than 9.8 million followers, and the reply immediately went viral.

The 50-year-old CNN host's tweet was deleted shortly after as he regained control of his account. "Pathetic loser." That tweet has since been deleted. "We are looking into how this happened".

CNN's communications team also tweeted that someone else accessed Cooper's handle, but couldn't provide the circumstances behind it. Trump endorsed Roy Moore in the general election yet backed Sen.

"Geolocation tools confirm that the tweet in question was not sent from Anderson Cooper's phone", read a statement from the network. "His assistant, who has worked with Anderson for more than a decade, is the only other person with access to Anderson's Twitter account".
