Shots Fired at Penn State Satellite Campus Near Pittsburgh

Two people are dead after a shooting at the Penn State Beaver campus on Wednesday afternoon.

Penn State Beaver is a campus of Pennsylvania State University in Center Township.

According to police, her husband came there and after they fought, he shot her then himself by her vehicle in the parking lot, next to the cafeteria area where she worked.

Pennsylvania State Police say the shooting is being investigated as a murder-suicide. The threat is now contained, she said.

There was no protection from abuse order filed against William Kelly, Hermick said. Police said they found Christmas presents at the scene.

Authorities said the couple had three children, who were safe with relatives, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

William Kelly drove into the parking lot behind the housing and food services building on the campus of Penn State-Beaver, got out of a pearl Chevy Tahoe, spoke with his ex-wife, Lesli Kelly.

The scene was declared not active shortly after the shooting occurred. "It appears to be some type of domestic violence issue here".

The school is closed until further notice.
