PUBG on Xbox One to Have Limited FPS at Launch

Many people do, thanks to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), the highly popular battle royale shooter that is getting a full release out of Steam's early access in a couple of weeks, on PC and Xbox One consoles.

According to an interview with Games TM, speaking to Mr PlayerUnknown himself Brendan Greene, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is aiming to hit a locked 60 FPS on Xbox One systems. "Definitely on Xbox One X, 60FPS", he said in a feature with gamesTM. There's some sad news for those of you hoping that your Xbox One X will be put to good use when playing PUBG though, as that extra power isn't necessarily going to translate to a higher frame rate. On Xbox One, we're not sure.

Let us know what you think about the state in which Battlegrounds is in right now.

At the same time, Greene acknowledged that frame rate "isn't that important" for a game like PUBG compared to a twitch-based shooter like Call of Duty.

Plans have changed, perhaps because getting a consistent 60 FPS on consoles has proved a tougher challenge than originally anticipated.

Greene did say that it was "early in dev (development)" and that the team at Bluehole will be constantly refining and looking at options to increase FPS, but said they were unable to confirm further details at this time.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will launch for Xbox Game Preview on December 12th, and is now in early access on PC, with a planned release date of late December.

[Original story] PUBG is finally coming to Xbox One in December. However, given the popularity of the game, Microsoft would surely be making efforts to maintain its exclusivity as long as possible.
