PS4 Gets All Nostalgic with a New PS2-Inspired Theme

The original Jak and Daxter has been available for a few months now, but it's time for Sony and Naughty Dog to make good on the rest of their promise. We eventually got Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, but the remaining three titles have yet to surface on the PlayStation Store.

Together, the entirety of Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter installments will be playable on the current Sony platform.

Naughty Dog classics Jak 2, 3, and Jak X Combat Racing are releasing on PS4 next week as part of the PS2 Classics collection.

Back in April, Sony confirmed that they were bringing all four PS2 Jak and Daxter games to PS4. You can check out a brief trailer for the Jak and Daxter re-releases, below. Jak II also took a darker tone than the original, adding a "dark Jak" form and pushing the game's rating to Teen instead of Everyone. These games can be purchased for $15 individually or together as a bundle for $40. Jak and Daxter evolved from whimsical lighthearted platforming characters to a much darker vision of a future's past world where Jak and Daxter find themselves pitted against multiple dark forces moving against them. Naughty Dog would go on to create the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises.

With more Jak and Daxter games made available to the PlayStation 4, fans of the franchise may be hoping that the revival of the series is in the works. The developer just released Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and now might have its hands full with The Last of Us: Part 2.
