Nawaz Sharif to leave for Saudi Arabia tonight

Addressing the participants at All Parties Conference (APC) convened over Model Town issue, the PAT supremo said that Model Town Massacre and 'Mujhay Kyu Nikala' was the agenda of this APC.

He further said that over 40 parties are standing with him in this demand.

Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif "will not be talking about national matters; they will be discussing issues being faced by the Muslim world and the region", he had said.

Backdoor diplomacy initiated by Saudi Arabia and the UAE may help ease tensions between Pakistan's military and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif with a possibility of a political deal on the horizon, according to sources in political circles.

He said the Sharif brothers had good relations with Saudi Arabia since they spent eight years in the kingdom during the period of exile. He said responsibilities of Model Town incident had been identified in Bagir Najfi report, adding after the report, Shahbaz Sharif must resign.

He also accused the APC of targeting the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri is politicising the Model Town incident.

In addition, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has given his word to refuse to accept the Sharifs' move.

His younger brother and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique are already in Saudi Arbai.

"The blood of Model Town martyrs humiliated Sharifs publicly", he said.

PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari met PAT supremo for the second time in the current month on Friday and addressed a joint press conference assuring that the party will abide by all decisions taken in the PAT-called all-party conference scheduled for today.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif speaks during a news conference in Islamabad, Pakistan, September 26, 2017.
