Mueller's team reaches $11 million bail deal with Manafort

Mr. Manafort has already turned over his passports to authorities, but his wife, who has not been criminally charged, would also voluntarily surrender her passport as part of the agreement. Gates has not yet announced whether he has reached agreement on bail with prosecutors or whether he would ask the judge for release without one.

Manafort would not be able to travel overseas or apply for global travel documents, and his wife agreed to hand over her passport as part of the deal. He can also travel to and from Washington, D.C. where proceedings are scheduled. He could lose the property if he violates bond, Politico reports.

Agreement on bail had been reached with the office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Downing said in the filing.

In court filings, Manafort's lawyers said he had agreed not to travel internationally, or to leave Florida, New York, Virginia and Washington without permission from the court.

Notably not on the list is a property on East 5th Avenue in Manhattan - identified by several media outlets as being in Trump Tower - that Manafort previously said in court papers he was willing to post in exchange for his release from home confinement.

The properties are worth $11.65 million, according to the documents. He turned over his three USA passports to prosecutors after his arrest. Manafort got additional passports to apply for visas when one was being used or believed to be lost, and traveled with a phone in his brother's name to protect the confidentiality of his clients.

A docket in the criminal case against Manafort and Gates, unsealed earlier this month, alleged that both men had received "millions of dollars" from Ukrainian and Russian oligarchs that would allow them "to live comfortably abroad" and therefore make them a flight risk.
