Backing all these features is a 3,000 mAh battery which according to the company's claims, offer around 8 days of stand by time on a single charge.

Xiaomi launched the entry-level Redmi 5A in India today. He said in a tweet that the Xiaomi Redmi 5A users will get additional cashback of Rs.1000 via Cashback through Reliance Jio. The Redmi 5 Plus will pack a 4,000mAh battery. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 16-megapixel front shooter for selfies. While coming to its specifications, the 'Made in India' handset has a 5-inch 720p HD display powered by quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor.

In terms of specs, the clear-cut victor here is the Redmi 5A which comes boasting of a spec sheet that embarrasses not just the Nokia 2, but also the Bharat 5 with the hardware it brings to the battle. The latest entries set competition in the entry-level 4G smartphone segment for home-grown Micromax and Xiaomi's "Bharat Ka Smartphone" initiative.

The device is expected to come in three variants - 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant priced at 1,200 Yuan (around $175 / €155), 4GB RAM + 32GB storage at 1,400 Yuan (around $205 / €180), and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage at 1,500 Yuan (around $220 / €195).

In terms of design, the Micromax Bharat 5 comes with an all-plastic back and prominent bezels at the front. The Redmi 5A measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.35 mm, and it weighs 137 grams.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a dual SIM phone, that supports nano SIM cards. The graphics performance is handled by the Adreno 308 GPU on board.

The Redmi 5A again looks to be the victor here as it comes sporting a 13-megapixel camera on the backwith f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus and LED flash. Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope. They will get 1GB data per day along with free local and national calls with a validity of 28 days.

If the latest report is anything to go by, Indian fans will get Rs 1,000 cashback on purchasing the "Desh ka Smartphone" touted as the Xiaomi Redmi 5A. Although the device sports a smaller 3000mAh battery, running MIUI9 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 helps the Xiaomi Redmi 5A with battery life.

In comparison, the Nokia 2 retails for Rs 6,999 while the Micromax Bharat 5 at Rs 5,555.
