John Mayer, musician, undergoes emergency appendectomy

John was hospitalized early Tuesday morning according to a rep for the singer.

Mayer's bandmates, Grateful Dead founding members Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, promised concert goers that the December 5 show will be rescheduled.

John Mayer had to undergo an emergency appendectomy in New Orleans on Tuesday (December 5), representatives said. He joined the group in 2015, alongside Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti and former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann.

Dead & Company are due to perform at Amway Center in Orlando on Thursday (07.12.17), and again in Fort Lauderdale on Friday (08.12.17).

However, as you can imagine the show that John Mayer was supposed to show up at in New Orleans tonight has been postponed indefinitely while he remains in the doctors' care.

Apparently, all of the purchased tickets will still be honored at the postponed date that is yet to be announced.

The band now includes former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann.

The band is scheduled to play the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on December 7.
