Forecast: Snow Ending This Morning, Cold Everywhere

But from tonight, thermometers are forecast to nosedive yet again, with lows of -5C - colder than -3C Reykjavík in Iceland - expected in Scotland and northern England.

Currently, Monday through Wednesday looks like it will be mostly sunny with highs hovering around the low/ mid-60s and have winds mainly from the west/ southwest at 5-10 miles per hour.

This comes just days after icy and snowy conditions caused havoc on United Kingdom roads, with lows hitting -13C in some parts of the country.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and freezing cold temperatures develop, with a low of 32 degrees. A few flurries are possible towards evening. This could also mean more rain and snow near the end of this month into January.

Saturday should be on the breezy side, but overall not quite as cold, with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs near 40.

Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of flurries and high temperatures in the mid 20s are in the forecast today for Auburn and Cayuga County.

Thursday afternoon the region is going to have normal high temperatures in the mid/ upper 50s with mostly sunny skies and have north/ northeast winds at 5-15 miles per hour.

"We are then due some brief respite as it turns temporarily milder from Sunday with the wind direction turning more southerly". Rain will switch to snow Friday night through Saturday morning. Friday night the region will build in a little bit of cloud cover and we'll cool to the low 30s to upper 30s.

Sunday starts dry but with clouds on the increase again. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
