Eagles QB Carson Wentz says he'll come back 'stronger than ever'

Nick Foles takes over as the starting quarterback after subbing in for Wentz on Sunday.

Carson Wentz expressed confidence in Nick Foles on Monday night, saying in a video message that the quarterback will do an "amazing job" in place of him for the Philadelphia Eagles the rest of this season. I mean, this is, this has been a resilient football team all season long.

"We still have something special", Wentz said.

The Eagles next face the New York Giants in Week 15 before a Christmas clash against the Oakland Raiders and a season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.

"Obviously, it's been a rough day for me, personally, I'm not going to lie".

How Wentz will recover from the ACL injury, and what kind of impact the injury will have on him, is a major unknown.

This game marked just the eighth time in the Super Bowl era that quarterbacks taken No. 1 and No. 2 overall in the same draft squared off. Goff was the first pick overall in 2016, followed by Wentz.

Not to suggest that Pederson's playbook isn't legit, but Wentz's rare combination of intelligence, arm strength, mobility and the ability to resurrect dead plays with Houdini-like escapes from the pocket are more responsible for the sleepless nights facing opposing defensive coordinators each week than Pederson's play calls.

A word from Wentz:Faith in Foles...

And even though Los Angeles lost cornerback Kayvon Webster to a torn Achilles Sunday, they're expecting to have a number of other players back on the field.

In eight games, Garcia had 10 touchdown passes, two interceptions and an impressive passer rating of 95.8.

"And it will be tough on me for a little bit", he said. That's just the love and appreciation they have for me and what I was able to help the Eagles do back in 2006. "I'm sure if you look at my Twitter, you'll still see Eagles fans wanting me to come back".

"The way that people respond to me, it doesn't seem like I'd ever have to pull my wallet out in that city".
