Peter Kay has announced the shock news that he has cancelled his entire United Kingdom tour which was due to start next year.

"Once again I'm very sorry".

The comedian, actor, author, director and producer was due to embark on his first live show in eight years in 2019 with six dates at Dublin's 3Arena and six more at Belfast's SSE Arena.

It would have been his first stand-up tour since 2010's The Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour...

Speaking previously of his return to the stage, he said: "I really miss it". The tour completely sold out, and broke a string of records including over one million tickets sold in arenas across the United Kingdom and Ireland, making it the biggest stand-up comedy tour in the world.

The tickets for his show went on sale last month, and it was priced between £35 and £99.

"As terrifying as it is, when it works there's nothing more fun and exciting".

Kay's statement promised refunds for all arena tour and Dance For Life tickets and advised customers to contact their point of purchase with queries.
