Beyonce Presents Colin Kaepernick With Sports Illustrated's Muhammad Ali Legacy Award

Legendary singer Beyonce made a surprise appearance to hand Kaepernick the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award at Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year ceremony.

Sports Illustrated is owned by Time Inc., TIME's parent company. It's been said that racism is so American that when we protest racism, some assume we're protesting America.

Brought out by presenter Trevor Noah (host of The Daily Show), Beyonce said she was "proud and humbled" to present the award to Kaepernick, who she said " took action with no fear of effect or repercussion, only hope to change the world for the better". "We're still waiting for the world to catch up", she told the audience.

Another added, "Conservatives are so outraged that Beyoncé presented that award to Colin Kaepernick but are hush hush about the fact that Donald trump just endorsed an pedophile and sexual abuser for office", referring to the president's support for Roy Moore's candidacy for Senate. "I don't know if I could ask for a better introduction than from[Daily Show host] Trevor [Noah] and obviously from Beyonce herself", he said.

Kaepernick takes his charity work very seriously.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback was acknowledged for using his sports platform to protest racial injustice and police brutality, prompting a nationwide take-a-knee movement in the process.

As on-field protests intensified in the early fall, Trump told a rally in Alabama on September 23 that National Football League team owners should react to kneeling players by saying, "Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, he's fired". He spent Thanksgiving at an "Un-Thanksgiving" protest on Alcatraz, and he holds a "Know Your Rights" camp for underprivileged children. "And, quietly, he has donated almost a million dollars to support it".
