Will request Pak to claim body of Masood Azhar's nephew: IGP Kashmir

A senior police official while conforming the report said that JeM in a statement issued earlier in the day accepted that Masood Azhar's nephew Talha Rasheed was among the three terrorists killed in the encounter with security forces in Aglar village of Pulwama district.

Indian troops in their cordon and search had martyred three youth in Aglar Kandi area of Pulwama district, last night.

The other two slain militants have been identified as Mehmood Bhai and Wasi Ahmed.

Major General B S Raju, who heads Victor Force and is responsible for security in south Kashmir and parts of Budgam and Bandipore, said Pakistan's special forces use M4 carbine rifles and it is likely that they supplied the weapon to the JeM. However militants opened fire in which one soldier was killed.

The recovery of M4 carbine from one of the gunned down terrorists at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir is yet another evidence of Pakistan's support to terror activities, Indian Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat said on Tuesday.

He said that police will launch a "thorough investigations" as to how this American weapon landed into the hands of the JeM militants.

"M4 Carbine is a US-made weapon, presently with a lot of armies in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and it is also with the Special Forces of the Pakistan Army". "The matter will be taken up through proper channels".

"There was disruption by locals who threw stones (at the security forces)". Pakistan denies the allegations and says it is doing more than any other country in fighting militant groups.

Officials said that two out of the three militants were Pakistani nationals, including Raseed.

He said blankets and some eatables were also recovered from the hideouts, indicating that the militants were using these places. He said around 16 to 20 JeM militants were still operating in the Valley. "We are not concerned what is their religion or other things", he said.
