Trump Jr's Halloween lesson on 'socialism' gets sour reaction

The son of the US President, Donald Trump Jr, got a lesson in sharing from social media after tweeting a picture of his daughter Chloe with her Halloween candy haul, and threatening to take half of it away to "teach her about socialism".

After all, as many people pointed out, the candy was given out for free, which is more about friendly neighbors and charity than it is about socialism.

Donald Trump, Jr., son of US President Donald Trump, attends the 139th White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House.

Talk about a scary father. That includes the candy his daughter received from relative strangers tonight, as well as whatever candy might befall a child who didn't go trick-or-treating (who Trump seems to think is lazy and doesn't deserve it??). Several Trump supporters have previously joked about dressing up as self-described socialist Bernie Sanders and many expressed their support for Trump Jr's interpretation. "It's never to early to teach her about socialism", the U.S. president's son posted, along with a picture with a bucket of treats.

But aside from immortalizing his child in such a classless fashion, Trump's analogy fails to ask itself where Chloe got all that candy in the first place.

Number two: too is spelled with double OOs.

I can't wait for Trump's Christmas card, which will no doubt feature Chloe standing her ground against a red-suited intruder or bagging a red-nosed buck for the mantle.

If Don anxious enough about socialism to be teaching his daughter of its evils at the age of three, his fear might not be so misplaced.
