Rose McGowan arrested on drug charges

According to People, police tested the substance and found it was indeed cocaine.

Rose McGowan was reportedly arrested and then released on bond for charges stemming from felony possession of a controlled substance, The Blast reports.

Rose McGowan turned herself into authorities Tuesday on an arrest warrant for drug possession, Page Six has confirmed.

The arrest warrant was obtained by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department and issued on February. 1. A warrant was issued for her arrest. She said she tweeted United Airlines to help her find the wallet.

McGowan has been in the news recently for speaking out about sexual assault allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein, and she has advocated on social media and publicly in support of other assault victims. McGowan had lost the wallet on the flight, and she and attorney Jim Hundley have argued that the drugs could have been planted.

Nervous that she was being followed by private investigators hired by Weinstein and uncertain whether she was talking to a real detective, she didn't go to the airport, choosing instead to board a bus for the march, she told the New Yorker. Fearing that the Post reporter would publish a story, McGowan tweeted that she was facing charges in Virginia.

A spokesperson for Weinstein previously told PEOPLE in a statement, "Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein".

McGowan claimed that the warrant for her arrest was part of a conspiracy to silence her, in a tweet from October 30. I've been maligned. And you know what?

She immediately took to Instagram to denounce the freeze: "TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME". "Imagining I'm going into sisterly solidarity, I can think of nothing more opposed to that, energetically, that I would want in my body at that moment". She was later released on a $5,000 (£3,800) bond.

"I beat him to it", she told Farrow.
