Pulwama encounter: Three terrorists, Army jawan killed in gunbattle

Defence spokesman, Col Rajesh Kalia, said that three militants hiding in the area have been killed.

Two AK-47s and a pistol have been recovered from the site of the encounter.

Three terrorists were killed by the security forces in the encounter.

"As the search party was laying cordon around the area, the hiding militants fired on them, in which one soldier was killed", sources said. "An encounter started between security forces and militants in Kandi Aglar of Pulwama district on Monday evening when a joint team of army's 44 RR, SOG and CRPF, following specific information, cordoned off this village". The encounter had ended with the gunning down of a militant. The identity of the militants were not immediately known. "The exchange of fire between the two sides is going on but there are no casualties reported". A civilian namely Tariq Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Bhat, resident of Kandi Aglar was also injured when massive clashes between locals and security forces erupted in the area amid encounter. Internet services were snapped in the district for security reasons.
