Pixar Pier Details Revealed, Including "Incredibles"-Themed Coaster"

Pixar Pier Details Revealed, Including

The first, all about The Incredibles (a franchise focusing on a family of fab superheroes), will see the California Screamin' rollercoaster morph into the Incredicoaster with a mid-century-modern-style loading area, new character moments, and superhero-like ride updates.

The fourth neighborhood brings everything together by celebrating multiple Pixar movies in one place, with nods to your favorite film characters everywhere you look. Luckily, Disney Parks Blog has broken down the specifics, filling us in on its new Pixar-themed attractions, restaurants, and memory-making fun that will be introduced in the summer of 2018. Toy Story Midway Mania, which has been a part of Paradise Pier for nearly a decade, will be the linchpin of a new, expanded Toy Story section.

News of the Pixar remake was made official this week after months of rumors, which led to speculation from fans and news outlets including The Los Angeles Times. Now, the Disney Parks Blog is offering more information on the permanent addition to Disney California Adventure coming around that same time: Pixar Pier.

Neighborhood number three will bring you straight into Toy Story and is centered on the wildly popular Toy Story Mania! New games will include characters from "A Bug's Life", "WALL-E" and "La Luna". Mickey Mouse's face, on the side of the wheel, will not be changed.

In preparation for all the big changes, California Screamin', along with Mickey's Fun Wheel, Games of the Boardwalk and Sideshow Shirts, will close January 8.

Finally, Ariel's Grotto, a restaurant based in Paradise Pier, and the Cove Bar will both undergo as-yet-unannounced transformations into something presumably more Pixar-centric.

The remaining attractions of Paradise Pier, including Silly Symphony Swings, Jumping Jellyfish, Paradise Gardens, Goofy's Sky School, The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure and Golden Zephyr, will become a new land in the area called Paradise Park.

The opening of Pixar Pier will be a part of all the fun of Pixar Fest, a celebration of friendship that begins next spring.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters: In this interactive attraction, guests fire lasers to help battle Evil Emperor Zurg, who is trying to steal the batteries from helpless toys. Now Disney has released a few more details about the upcoming attractions. The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this station.
