Pakistani consulate official shot dead in Afghanistan

This is important, as Pakistan has repeatedly expressed concern over India's role in the USA strategy, saying its security concerns in the region should be recognised. On that, she added that the United States also assured Pakistan that India will not be given role in Afghanistan which is detrimental to Pakistan's security.

A statement by the ARG Palace said the government has instructed all security officials to launch a comprehensive investigation into the incident and introduce the perpetrators to the judiciary institutions. Therefore, Pakistan should have a closer watch on activities of India in Afghanistan and check, expose its real designs. She said, "Pakistan has also told the Americans if they can give us actionable intelligence, we will take action against any individual or anyone and anything that you identify as having terror intend, you feel that could be a possibility of danger, first to Pakistan and then Afghanistan". Increase in drone strikes is a clear indication that so far the United States has not obliged, therefore, Pakistan should continue to stress its point during engagements at different levels.

To a question by a participant about anti-Pakistan posters in London, Janjua said the posters had been removed after Pakistan's protest.

Referring to the army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa's recent visit to Afghanistan, Janjua called it a "significant visit", saying the meetings with Afghan civilian leadership were positive.

Pakistan summoned the Afghan charge d'affaires in Islamabad to protest against the killing of consular official Nayyar Iqbal Rana on Monday near his residence in the eastern city of Jalalabad, Pakistan's foreign office said in a statement.

Later in the day, the funeral prayers of the diplomat were held in the federal capital, which were attended by Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif.
