National Sandwich Day to Help Fight Hunger

Friday is National Sandwich Day, which means that with a little planning, lunch may be a little cheaper.

Each year, Foodbank delivers more than 63 million meals to Australians seeking hunger relief through the help of farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and thousands of volunteers across the country.

Subway is offering customers who purchase a sub and a 30-ounce drink a free sandwich on Friday.

Fast forward to today and the sandwich now has its own day.

National Sandwich Day usually lands on the birthday of John Mantagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. For every customers that buys the food and drink required for the offer, Subway will donate one meal to Feeding America.

New Yorkers can also celebrate National Sandwich Day with an event taking place at Madison Square Park.

Go to any Arby's and sign up for the Meat Mountain's newsletter (which is free) and you'll get a free roast beef sandwich.

Quizno's: An eight-inch Classic Italian sub is just $5.

Firehouse Subs - Be one of the first 50 orders for any size Hook & Ladder sub on November 3 and get free chips and a medium drink with a medium or large sub purchase on your next visit.

This is hardly an exhaustive list, so be sure to poke around and call your local sandwich shops to find more deals. If you click on the "Get Deals" tab, you'll be directed to a form that allows you to register for the newsletter and receive a coupon.
