Motorola's new Mod is a snap-on Polaroid photo printer

Motorola's new Mod is a snap-on Polaroid photo printer

Just like the name says, the mod turns your phone into a Polaroid camera, letting you instantly print pictures you take or have on your phone instantly.

The new "Insta-Share" Moto Modis the latest Moto Mod from Motorola and will work with the company's Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z2 Play phones. Okay, they may not technically be "modular" ... In theory, you could do basically anything with a Moto Mod, and now Polaroid is expanding what the platform is capable of, with a printer.

The technology is a little more advanced here.

The photos are printed using Polaroid Premium ZINK Zero-Ink Paper. You're not limited to printing photos straight from your camera app either.

The photos you print are supposedly smudge-proof and they have an adhesive back, so you can stick them up. With it, you snap a photo on your Motorola device, then simply print it out and hand it over to whoever you want. In this case, the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer, which was announced earlier this year, allows you to capture a photo and print it on 2 x 3-inch ZINK paper. The Insta-Share Printer has a physical button on it that you can press to launch the camera and take a picture. That seems pretty expensive to us when you can easily share your pictures with your friends on Facebook or Instagram. Keep in mind a similar, standalone device, the Polaroid OneStep 2, costs just $99. Let us know down in the comments.
