Manchester United lining up January bid for Chelsea's David Luiz

Antonio Conte is willing to bring David Luiz back into the fold for Chelsea's trip to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom on Saturday, according to reports.

The football world was shocked when Luiz was left out of the Chelsea squad to face United two weeks ago, with young defender, Andreas Christensen taking his place in the middle of the three-man defence, and the youngster impressed sufficiently as he marked out Romelu Lukaku for the entire duration of the game.

The last worldwide break made history not only in terms of the Italian national team failing to make a World Cup in 60 years, but also in Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte doing something he's never done before in his 48 years.

"It was a tactical decision [to drop him against United] and every single player has to react well and accept the decision".

"Moses is progressing well - I hope to see him back next week", Conte said at a press briefing today.

"I think I stay here to speak for the team before the West Brom game, not a single player".

"I must be honest, now Manchester City are playing very well and it's very hard to think that you can catch them because, if they continue in this way, it will be very hard for any team to try and fight for the title", Conte continued. "This is most important".

"For sure, he's only 21 years old, but he's playing with great maturity". Luiz was majestic for The Blues last season as they won the league with a record 30 wins out of 38 matches.

Denmark worldwide Christensen slotted in seamlessly for Luiz against United and has the same ball-playing qualities after spending two seasons on loan in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Victor Moses is still nursing a hamstring injury and Conte expects to have the Nigerian back in action next week, while Danny Drinkwater has only returned to training in the last few days following a calf issue and will not be involved. "I don't understand why we always have to try (to find) a problem".

"Manchester City are playing very well. It's very hard to predict who will win the title".
