Kizer returns, but Browns still blow it, losing to Detroit 38-24

He is, by far, the Lions' biggest receiver. The interception was his first.

That wasn't the worst part of Cleveland's first-half performance.

Here is the play Kizer was injured on.

Cody Kessler is playing for the Browns at quarterback during the fourth quarter. They rolled 80 more yards in 10 plays capped by Kizer's 1-yard QB keeper into the endzone after he found DeValve for 35 yards for a 24-17 advantage that was unfortunately short-lived.

Hue Jackson has had his share of poor play-calling this year.

Rushing Attack - The Browns ran for a season-high 201 yards on 33 attempts in the loss. The Browns were coming out of a timeout - their last of the half - and it is incumbent upon Jackson to stress game situation to his rookie quarterback. The 21 passes and 232 yards were both the second best totals of Kizer's career, trailing only a game against the Indianapolis Colts when he was 22-for-47 with 242 yards passing. Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson ran well. It was by far his best performance of the season and reason to believe.

That being said, in addition to the Lions vs. Browns, there are plenty of other games on the NFL Week 10 schedule for you to enjoy.

The Lions needed just four plays to go 75 yards for the game-tying score. This team makes mistakes - witness the end of the first half - but it has not quit or given up.

Cleveland drove inside Detroit's 5-yard line in the closing seconds, but the clock expired after Kizer was stopped for no gain at the 2. Yet another botched opportunity and disgusting clock management considering that the Browns had to blow their final timeout with 1:17 to go in the half.

While having his best outing of the season, Kizer got hit in the ribs and was taken to the locker room. Detroit would end up winning the contest, 38-24.

Second Half Stops The Browns defense gave up 3 touchdown drives in the second half.

Following the injury, the wheels failed off the defense even more.

End Result - Close, competitive, not good enough.
