Karim Benzema reflects on how he lost respect for Jose Mourinho

The Frenchman has scored a very respectable 182 goals in 377 Real Madrid games, but that's nearly nothing compared to Ronaldo's haul of 414 goals in 407 appearances.

Benzema is in his ninth season at Real and his two goals in eight appearances across all competitions so far this term and he has now scored 183 times in 373 total outings for the reigning Spanish and European champions.

Benzema has been at Madrid since 2009.

"[Ronaldo] is more selfish than me, but that's normal", Benzema explained in an interview with Canal+, via Marca.

Elaborating more, Owen continued: "I was told by Sir Alex Ferguson that "we want Benzema, but if Benzema doesn't come then you're coming". In the end, it's good for the team".

The Frenchman has racked up nearly 200 goals across all competitions for Los Blancos, adding 2 La Liga crowns, 2 Copa Del Reys, 3 Champions Leagues, 3 UEFA Super Cups and a pair of FIFA Club World Cups to his trophy cabinet in the process.

Poor form and missing clear chances happen to any striker, however, Los Blancos fans have made clear their own frustrations with booing and whistling, something which hurts the former Lyon goalscorer.

But he has hardly been missed by Deschamps, who guided France to the final of Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation. I just like football and winning titles.

"The pressure to succeed with your country is something else, I hope my situation can change".

"But I will handle it", said Deschamps.

"That's our news. On a personal level, the players I selected deserve a minimum of respect". It's been more than two and a half years, it doesn't take much to understand what is going on. Even if he's someone I respect, after a while, I started to lose it.
