Is Jay Ajayi playing in Week 9?

New Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi will be active for the Eagles' game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon, according to the team.

The tight end planned to play but after struggling in warmups will sit out Sunday.

Ertz, who was listed as questionable, was on the field for warm-ups catching passes from quarterback Carson Wentz. Ertz figures to return after the Eagles' Week 10 bye, at which point Burton would resume third-string tight end duties behind Ertz and blocker Brent Celek. His 43 receptions rank second among National Football League tight ends, one behind Kansas City's Travis Kelce. It's likely that he'll have a limited role to start, sharing the workload with LeGarrette Blount.

Doug Pederson said Darby wasn't taking reps with the first team and has been working on the side with strength and conditioning coaches during practice. "He's picked it up, he's had some extra meetings with [running backs coach] Duce [Staley] this week, so we're trying to get him up to speed as fast as he can and we can and he's done a nice job".

Only five days removed from his move from Miami to Philadelphia, Ajayi will be a part of the game plan in his first opportunity to do so. They were willing to take a risk in hopes he would regain his 2016 Pro Bowl form when he rushed for close to 1,300 yards and eight touchdowns. "He's aggressive", Pederson said.
