Is Captain Cold leaving the Arrowverse?

Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold appears to be officially done with the Arrowverse.

Wentworth Miller has announced his departure from the Arrowverse after almost 5 years of playing the character, Captain Cold, throughout The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

The 45-year-old out actor announced on Instagram that he will be departing "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "The Flash".

After thanking cast and crew, Miller said "I've had a tremendous time playing this character". What started off as a villain turned more into a complex character that was neither only good or bad.

Wentworth Miller's long run as Arrowverse's Leonard Snart (aka Captain Cold) is coming to an end. "It's been an opportunity, an education, and a f***ing blast". At least informing the public means he's presumably talked to writers, which means that Captain Cold might get a proper send-off from The Flash and LoT so that future fans won't have to wonder why the character just up and disappeared for later seasons.

Captain Cold has always been a favorite on the series and earned a spot on Legends of Tomorrow where he was partnered with his former Prison Break co-star Dominic Purcell. Last month, we learned that Victor Garber, who plays Professor Stein (and one half of Firestorm), was confirmed to be leaving the show sometime during its currently-airing third season.
