First look at Jude Law as Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts sequel

Fantastic Beasts 2 is no longer Fantastic Beasts 2-it's Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and now we have our first look at some of the cast, including Jude Law in action as the young Albus Dumbledore himself!

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald takes place in New York, Paris and London, where we will see love and loyalties tested in this tumultuous time in the wizarding world.

As you can see in the poster there, Dumbledore (Jude Law) is at the opposite side of the photo as Grindelwald, and this is likely done to highlight the philosophical differences between the two wizards. Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, and Johnny Depp are all returning for this one.

It seems like it's been a hundred years since Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them debuted, but that's probably just the effects of 2017. To help him in his search, Dumbledore enlists his former student and magizoologist Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne.

Last year's movie brought in $813 million globally and received a Rotten Tomatoes score of 74 percent.

Newt reunites with Tina (Katherine Waterston), her sister Queenie (Alison Sudol) and the nonmagical baker Jacob (Dan Fogler) for his mission in "an increasingly unsafe and divided wizarding world".

The Harry Potter movies limited their romantic leanings to the odd snog in the Leaky Cauldron, but the new Fantastic Beasts saga delves into more grown-up territory.

Zoe Kravitz's Leta Lestrange will have a more significant role in the sequel after she popped up momentarily in a magic photo kept by ex-boyfriend Newt.

Harry Potter readers and film fans may already be familiar with some of the crimes of Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

As J.K. Rowling revealed in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", Grindelwald sought the Elder Wand as part of his quest (which he once shared with Dumbledore as a teenager) to unite the Hallows.

Up until now, we've only known Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore as an older man with a great beard (first portrayed by Richard Harris, then Michael Gambon).
