Ex-college, National Football League coach Kelly mulls Florida, UCLA jobs

The UCLA job opened on Sunday while Florida administrators were en route to meet with Kelly in New Hampshire.

Florida and Chip Kelly have been in talks, but Florida officials have lost confidence in their ability to land the former OR head coach as he decides between positions.

The decision by Kelly to move away from the Gators potentially clears him to focus attention on the opening at UCLA.

Frost, according to Yahoo, "has been on Florida's radar" all along and "was considered within the industry to be the most likely successor to Jim McElwain at Florida".

Kelly met with UCLA officials Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Frost and his undefeated UCF team faced Southern Florida on Friday afternoon. While Fisher, who has already gone through multiple spins of the coaching carousel with LSU, has remained steady on his policy of not discussing other jobs, the tension between coach and fan base has coupled with a disappointing season to make a odd situation in Tallahassee. One coach told Football Scoop that "i$3 t's dead quiet" at UCLA as they await word from Kelly, whom the coaching community believes will ultimately land with the Bruins.

The Sunshine Showdown doesn't have the kind of cache that we're used to seeing at the end of November, as both Florida and Florida State enter the game with 4-6 records after going under.500 in conference play.
