Chicago Bulls To Host 2020 NBA All-Star Game

The NBA has today announced that the 2020 All-Star Game will be held in Chicago for the first time since 1988. "He (Mayor Emanuel) called regularly, and was very enthusiastic about bringing the game here. We are thrilled to bring the NBA All-Star Game back", said Silver. That year Bulls legend Michael Jordan and Atlanta's Dominique Wilkins put on a show in one of the best NBA Slam Dunk Contests ever.

"We are honored that the National Basketball Association has selected Chicago to host All-Star 2020", said Reinsdorf. He was joined by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Bulls President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Reinsdorf. Chicago will be the center of the basketball universe come Winter of 2020. The Stanley Cup Final and World Series have both been contested, but marquee events like the NFL Draft, the NHL Entry Draft, and the Warrior Games have also taken place at various locations in Chicago. The 2020 All-Star weekend will mark the third time that the city of Chicago has had the honor of hosting the NBA's stars - 1973 and 1988 being the others. "Now, it's a campus", he said. The economic impact past year of the All-Star Game in New Orleans was upwards of $45 million, a number likely to be greater in Chicago given its deep basketball history.
