While the headphone jack on smartphones isn't an endangered species just yet, it's clearly falling out of favor - and that's bound to make you nervous if you don't want to live the dongle lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the top executives of the company have also been trying to build the hype around the OnePlus 5T through mysterious tweets.

OnePlus 5T is launching for sure, and the company has written a detailed blog post explaining why this smartphone will retain the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Remember how Google touted the original Pixel phone line's headphone jacks, only to take them away for the Pixel 2? Obviously this isn't confirmation from OnePlus that the 5T will come with the tech, but this kind of heavy handed hint toward the tech being present would surely upset some fans if the company then chose to drop the audio tech from its upcoming device. "The advantage to USB-C is that it would have let us further slim down our flagships". OLED display which is one of the prominent features will be seen in the upcoming OnePlus 5T.

OnePlus looks set to follow the schedule it established a year ago and introduce an iterative update to its flagship smartphone six months after launch. It stated today, "This is one of those times when we respectfully disagree on what it means to be courageous". True, they could bump up the camera and the screen resolution, but in raw speed, a OnePlus 5T is unlikely to be any faster.

OnePlus 5T is expected to pack in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with 8GB RAM and a 20MP front and rear camera, according to an earlier report by GizChina. OnePlus 5T will likely sport a more expensive price tag, and we saw this trend with the OnePlus 3T as well.
