Buhari, Ameachi, Fayose commiserate with Tinubu over Son's Death

The Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has commiserated with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress and former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the loss of his eldest son, Jide Tinubu.

Tinubu was said to have departed Lagos barely 48 hours after his son, Jide, was pronounced dead by medical doctors at the Lagos Island General Hospital, Lagos state.

The family member added that the tragic news was kept secret because the father, Bola Tinubu, was in Abuja for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of his party, the APC.

This follows a deluge of condolences for Tinubu since the Lagos State chapter of the APC announced the sudden death of his first son, Jide, on Wednesday.

Describing the transition of Babajide as "sad and painful", the President said that the nation had been denied the services and potential of the resourceful lawyer.

Dogara prays God Almighty to grant Asiwaju and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Bamigbade noted that the late Jide Tinubu, popularly known as Asiwaju, was a devoted Muslim who lived a life worthy of emulation.

Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, said via his verified Twitter handle, "I am left shell shocked by the news of the demise of Jide Tinubu".

Similarly, the Speaker, House of Representatives described Jide as a lawyer of high repute who cut his teeth in the maritime sector and was hardworking and enterprising. "But we leave everything to God", the source said.

"Jide has been a source of joy to his parents and therefore I am expressing my heart-felt condolence over his death", he stated.

He pleaded with Nigerians to continue to pray for the Tinubu family, while advising the national leader of APC to take solace in the fact that "God giveth and God taketh". I can only imagine your pain and grief at this time.
