Australian minister blames hackers over Twitter porn 'like'

Australian minister blames hackers over Twitter porn 'like'

Senator Bernardi, a long time factional rival of Mr Pyne's, proposed the examination of how the Cabinet Minister's twitter account was hacked in the early hours of Thursday morning.

"I spoke to Bill Shorten last night and we're satisfied that this is a public Twitter account".

"I'm deeply concerned about what that means for our national security and we need to know how deep and far this penetration has been", the Australian Conservatives leader said.

One person told Pyne: 'It's quite serious if the accounts of the Minister for Defence Industry have been compromised.

At 2am yesterday, Mr Pyne's Twitter account "liked" a video, from the account "XxxPornGay", of two men in a sexual encounter.

Appearing on the Today show on Friday morning, Mr Pyne repeated his claims he was hacked, and shrugged the incident off as "annoying". But the drama isn't over, with controversial senator Cory Bernadi demanding an investigation.

Mr Pyne said his passwords had been changed and his office had changed its "approach" to social media.

"Maybe they are making mischief over the plebiscite".

'Need full investigation and report in case is foreign agent trying to influence elections'.

Others raised concerns over the fact that the Minister for Defence Industry, a high-profile figure in government, could be hacked in the first place.

As revellers across the nation celebrated the resounding Yes win following the government's same-sex-marriage postal survey, the tweet was shared by a Twitter "bot" account, which lists the likes of all federal politicians to its followers. Cruz blamed a staff member who had "inadvertently hit the like button" on the video.
