Airtel checkmates rivals with 300GB data plan valid for 1 year

The plan earlier provided users 1 GB of 3G/4G data for a period of 28 days along with 1000 free minutes of voice calling per week. This plan from Airtel can finally compete with the offerings of Jio as it now includes 100 free SMS per day which was the only major difference in the offerings of the two companies. Airtel only recently launched a new Rs 448 plan for prepaid users to take on Jio's Rs 399 plan.

The Rs 999 MyInfinity postpaid plan from Airtel gives you 50GB of data per month without any daily FUP limitations.

Aimed to woo voice customers, the new offer from the Kumar Mangalam Birla-owned telco is in competition with Bharti Airtel's unlimited voice plans for Rs 199 and Vodafone's Rs 177 pack on similar lines. The Rs 399 plan of the 2nd largest telecom operator of the country provides unlimited STD and local calling as well as 90 GB data for a time of 6 Months from the time of the recharge. Its users can avail 70GB of data (1GB of 3G/4G data per day) with a validity of 70 days for a recharge of Rs 448. The modified plan included unlimited outgoing calls on roaming.

Along with these plans, Airtel has also updated their older Rs. 349 and Rs 399 plan. Once the quota is exceeded, the speed of data is likely to reduce to 64kbps.

In essence, subscribers who make the recharge from web or via Idea's in-house app will be eligible for unlimited voice (local and STD) calling and 2GB with a validity of 28 days should they opt for the Rs 179 plan. Now, the company is back with a new long-term data and voice combo plan for its prepaid subscribers. If the user crosses the limit Rs 30 Paise will be charged for each minute.

Even Idea Cellular tweaked its Rs 357 plan to include the same.

According to reports, the plan doesn't have a daily limit on the data usage which means users can either consume 300GB data in just a single day or use it across the validated 360 days.
