Three killed as cargo plane crashes into sea off Ivory Coast

Four French citizens were also injured in the crash, which occurred as the Antonov 26 plane, en route from Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou, neared the airport, said Sinaly Silue, director general of Ivory Coast's civil aviation authority.

Ten people were on board, according to the police.

At least four people were killed, a witness told Reuters news agency. The French cargo plane was carrying material for the French army, according to security guards on site.

Abidjan, the country's major urban center, lies on the southern Atlantic coast of Ivory Coast.
