Rahul Gandhi as Congress president will happen soon, mother Sonia says

Rahul is expected to be elected to the president's post unopposed.

The confident BJP seems to be losing its ground in the state as a feeling of anti-incumbency is rising against the Vijay Rupani government especially from the Patidars.

Rahul had previously said that he was ready to take charge of the Congress party. The opposition alleges that the dates have not been called to allow the BJP, which has governed the state for two decades, to usher in a range of SOPs blatantly created to influence voters. The opposition had criticised the EC on only announcing the dates for Himachal Pradesh and delaying it for Gujarat.

PM Modi's had last visited USA in June.

The BJP is in power in Gujarat since 1995.

Taking a jibe at the political tactics played by BJP, Rahul also taunted that "As Gujarat waits for poll dates, the state gets project worth almost Rs 12,500 crores".

Trump's latest tweet, ANI said, was likely to be discussed by Indian leaders and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson when he visits India in the last week of October.

Launching a scathing attack on Amit Shah, Modhwodia called the BJP President a "proxy chief minister of Gujarat", adding that PM Modi and Amit Shah have resorted to "below the belt politics". The Gujarat elections have not been announced yet, though Chief Election Commissioner Achal Kumar Jyoti has said they will be held before December 18.

On BJP's claim that not much progress was made during the Congress rule in Gujarat, Solanki reminded Modi that the school and the college in which he studied were established by Congress governments, and the dams that provide drinking and irrigation facilities were also built under the party's rule.
