Michigan State says it's received threats towards athletic events

Ann Arbor police and other police departments will be making some changes in security for tonight's Michigan-Michigan State football game following the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

There is always plenty of anticipation before Michigan football takes on Michigan State. MI won last year's meeting 32-23 in East Lansing. Michigan State has had recent success winning 7 of the last 9 games. He needs to protect the ball against this elite MI defense which ranks No. 1 in the country.

Sick of being called Michigan's "little brother", Michigan State will keep the game closer than it should be. The Spartans have won seven of the last nine games in a series MI has historically handled, going 69-35-5.

The Spartans will be led by sophomore quarterback Brian Lewerke who has looked solid this season, passing for eight touchdowns and only two interceptions. The Spartans' defense could prove to be too much for a Wolverines offense that has struggled throughout the beginning part of the season. The defense has been outstanding and is 5 in the nation allowing just 248 yards per game. It ends up being a defensive battle, with the Spartans pulling off the upset on the road. Fifth-year senior John O'Korn stepped in to play quarterback in relief of starter Wilton Speight.

"The safety and well-being of everyone who attends Michigan State athletic events including fans, student-athletes, coaches and workers, alway has and always will be our first priority", Hollis said in a statement.
