'Last Comic Standing' Comedian Ralphie May Dies at 45

NBC affiliate WSMV confirmed earlier reports made by TMZ that May had been forced to cancel several dates within the last few weeks as he battle pneumonia.

"Ralphie" May died of cardiac arrest in Las Vegas, PEOPLE confirms.

His body was found at a private home in Las Vegas, according to THR, and his cause of death was preliminary reported to be cardiac arrest.

Ralphie's comedy career soared after finishing second on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2003, and has had numerous comedy specials since on Comedy Central and Netflix.

Most recently, May had a Las Vegas residency at Harrah's, including shows that were scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

Ralphie May has died at 45. "He was a friend to many and a father of 2 handsome children".

TMZ says in 2015, he and his wife Lahna Turner, also a comedian, filed for divorce. They shared two children, April and August.

In 2005, May released "Just Correct", a comedy album.
